Hi there, I’m Ms. Emily Tran, a holistic therapist from Oakland in the Bay Area of California. I was raised in an immigrant household where words were few but deliciously made food was the way my mother conveyed her love for me. I grew up expressing my emotions through painting and playing piano. As an adult I discovered that healing intergenerational trauma within my psyche required more than just talk therapy. I found success with holistic therapy because the integrated approaches helped me to accept my ancestral and cultural traditions, while also specializing in uncovering the root causes to the myriad of psychosomatic symptoms I had. Through yoga, meditation, and relaxation techniques, I learned how to better take care of my health and incorporate movement to help me feel safe in my body again. I also had so much anxiety, stress, and pain which I was able to manage through regular acupuncture. Finally I was able to reconcile and honor a traditional Chinese medicine practice from my family's lineage.
